The homeless pet population is a crisis that we should all be concerned about, as it increases daily. Animal shelters are overpopulated, leaving them short of the funds they need to take care for all the extra animals. Unfortunately too many healthy dogs and cats are euthanized each year simply because the shelters don’t have enough resources to care for them all. Adoptions alone can’t solve the problem.

One of the biggest contributing factors to animal overpopulation is pet abandonment. Thousands of animals are abandoned by their owners every day, and most of them are unvaccinated and unneutered. These neglected animals can spread disease, damage property, fight with other pets for food or territory, and in many circumstances produce unadoptable offspring (leading to even more unwanted animals that continue this cycle).

If left unfixed, female dogs can have 5–8 puppies per litter, and just one female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 dogs in only 6 years. Cats reproduce even faster than dogs and even while a cat is still nursing her kittens she can become pregnant again. Female cats can have 3–5 kittens per litter, and one female cat and her offspring can produce over two million cats in 8 years, that is astounding!

We hope that by spreading the word of this important act it will help reduce the homeless animal population and spread awareness to the crisis that animal shelters and neighborhoods face everyday.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″] We Care Rescue Ranch is committed to solving the root causes of pet homelessness in the Orange County area. We understand we are facing the harsh reality of significant pet overpopulation both nationwide and here at home. This has led to homelessness and mass euthanasias due to space, and a backlog of spay/neuter surgeries needed at our local shelters. We determined to finding a new approach to Breaking The Cycle with our SnypOC Spay and Neuter Program. Without spaying or neutering dogs and cats, it’s easy to see how so many end up in shelters—or worse.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner css=”.vc_custom_1634838910639{margin-top: 20px !important;padding-top: 50px !important;}” row_reverse_mobile=”0″ row_reverse_tablet=”0″][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text text_larger=”no”]

SnypOC, We Care Rescue Ranch’s targeted Spay/Neuter program was developed to provide our community with the needed education and resources to dramatically reduce the number of unwanted animals born and ultimately killed in our shelters today.

This proactive approach helps to control the birthrate of unwanted dogs and cats, the single most important component in accomplishing our mission.

The We Care Rescue Ranch team made it their mission to help reduce pet overpopulation and homelessness and stop euthanasias in our shelters. By spaying or neutering your pet, you’ll help control the pet homelessness crisis, which results in millions of healthy dogs and cats being euthanized in the United States each year simply because there aren’t enough homes to go around. We understand that when we work together, we can accomplish so much more. To accomplish this goal we must find a new approach in order to Break The Cycle – Reduce the Birthrate.

Far too many pets are born each year. By preventing these births can we reduce the number of animals dying needlessly. Unplanned litters become homeless because the pet owners can’t or won’t find a home for each little one. As a result, many animals are left to fend for themselves or they’re brought to shelters… and most shelters are over-crowded. Every puppy or kitten that is bought from a breeder or is “taken in” from an accidental litter means that one more animal in a shelter loses its chance at finding a home.

● Reduces the number of unwanted pets bornBe a part of the solution
